Stevie Smith and Michael Davis own Smith & Davis Salon in Chicago, Illinois. They will be teaching a hands-on class all about the suitability of a haircut and color. The class will use live models and will be highly interactive. Each attendee will provide their own model and a cut and color will be performed in an intimate educational setting. There will be an emphasis on placement of color/color-blocking and precision cutting.
Topics being covered in the class will include suitability of haircut and color on the guest, in-depth consultation, utilizing precision cutting + creative color placement to create individualized fashion-forward styles.
Stevie Smith has been in the industry since 1987 with a long list of experiences as a technical hairdresser. In addition to multiple awards, her work has been featured in Allure, Chicago Social, Modern Luxury, Chicago Bride + Martha Stewart Weddings. Stevie works on both sides of the camera, both a stylist and a photographer. Stevie is a certified Wella Master Colorist and is part of the Wella Cut Craft Team. Hairdressing is her true passion and joy.
Michael started cutting hair in college and never stopped. Michael honed his craft with the best at Vidal Sassoon. He eventually was promoted to Creative Director for Sassoon’s Chicago Salon. Michael has worked with other prestigious salons and has helped them to implement cutting curricula. He is passionate about creating suitability for the guest through means of form and function. Michael’s attention to detail makes him an incredible artist and educator.
Models will be receiving a single process color with foils or block coloring. Models will not be able receive balayage, corrective color and bleach/tones.
Class is worth 6 CE hours through the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology
